The shop integrates into the center of the urban fabric of Geel. It consists of the renovation of a historic building "the deanery" and a new construction volume in the depth of the plot.
Essentially a shop means a pleasant climate and first-class light. These were the key words from the very beginning.
Along with the customer there was resolutely chosen to convert comfort and durability in geothermal energy, a heat pump, an air handling unit that carries both heating and cooling and fresh air to the different zones using displacement of air. The entire installation is invisible and peripheral integrated in the furniture, no sound, no draught.
Selling shoes means that they have to be put in the spotlight. The lighting concept went through an interesting process for the functional illuminating of these shoes. This resulted in a specific LED line lighting integrated into the furniture. In between the cabinets a landscape is created with pendant luminaires of LED lights which brings a general lighting in the store. LED lighting was a primary choice to reduce strongly both consumption and the heat load.
These installations provide the pleasant climate and the perfect light in an architecture that wonders from any angle. A lot of energy has gone to the refinement and the elaboration of details so the attention can completely go to the shoes through simplicity.
